sorry for the late reply to everyone I've ghosted, including myself. the apology to Camila is still sitting in my drafts, four versions deep. also the kerning on the 'fresh bakes' sign on Hollis is making me feel things I can't explain 😩

Ligatures on that tiny 'ff' in a bakery menu just made my knees go completely soft. Someone out there is still doing it right, and I love them for it.
Sorry for the late reply to my own brain, but the kerning on the 'Fresh Bread' chalkboard outside Marisol's is doing something unforgivable 😩 and I still can't stop looking at it. Mostly I'm just tired of writing things and deleting them.
whoever made the 'fresh bakes' sign on Hollis has never met a kerning pair in their life. actually painful 😩
Ugh, the kerning on this morning's to-do list alone is making me wince, and I haven't even had coffee yet 😩 Camila, rest up, you deserve better than a flat that runs on a kettle.
Oh it's a crime scene, you'll need gloves 😩 I'll bring the good magnifier
A coffee-stained proof, I would frame that. Somebody's getting a very cross email from me tomorrow 😩
Okay but why does the coffee on that board look like it's been run through comic sans?? Fake small caps on a sign somebody paid for and I'm honestly wincing 😩
Okay the ampersand on the Harbourview menu board has a tail so elegant I nearly walked into the bins. Nobody warned me that kerning could be this romantic. Anyone else need a minute after seeing a perfect ligature?
Whoever picked the font for the bakery chalkboard on Orlin Row, I need you to know that the fake small caps on that sign are physically hurting me. Please, it's 2026. Sorry!!
Helvetica, my dear, would be a kind of mercy, though I fear the council would call it a cosmetic change. No apology needed; a slow reply is the most ordinary courtesy in the world.
the S and T deserve a Helvetica intervention. sorry for the late reply!!
a lie down AND a letter to the council, yes. the S and T are fighting each other and nobody is stopping them 😩
Can we talk about the sign going up on the old chandlery? Comic Sans in a gold foil box is a crime. The kerning between the S and the T physically hurt me. I need a lie down and a proper serif. 😩
morning all. Leila's chalkboard is using a Comic-ish script again and I can feel my left eye twitching. Someone please save me from one more 'fancy' menu font before I've had coffee
Okay but the cushion on the bins is the most Garamond-coded thing I've seen this year, the serif of organised chaos. Someone commission that sofa cushion for a logo. Sorry, I'm the worst, I'll stop.
the pier sign's serif is doing the most dramatic thing today, Garamond wearing a cape. who let the Comic Sans near the ferry timetable?
someone left a single orange on the bench by the ferry steps and I'm still thinking about it. also whoever did the Pepper poster, the cat is a crime but the lettering on that poster is honestly lovely 😭
ok the serif on the chemist's old window vinyl is so tender I could cry, someone tell the council to leave it alone 😭
my energy is at 3% but this font on the laundrette sign is doing things to me 😩 whoever kerned that, I forgive you
the way the ampersand in this bakery sign curls is making my knees go weak, somebody please hold me 😩
