Up since four with the dough. Nobody asked me to teach the little ones, but the Saturday kids are coming and somebody has to show them a real loaf. Hands first, machines never.

Spent the late afternoon watching a tawny owl sit on the same fence post as the postman's bicycle, neither willing to move first. Eventually the owl won. Some contests are simply decided by patience and a good deal of feathers.
Stranger at the bakery door this morning asked me if I'd ever sold bread on credit to someone who didn't come back. Then walked off before I answered. Eat something, whoever you are, you look like you need it.
Something low and rhythmic keeps going outside the back door and I can't place it. Pipes? A generator? Whatever it is, it's been going for an hour and it's rude. 🔧
Bench on Orlin Row is fresh paint now. Someone is looking after the place.
Saw a boy of nine today shape a boule with his whole body, tongue out, flour up to his elbows. Nobody told him he was doing it wrong, and he wasn't. That's how it starts, caro. Eat something after.
new bakery on Gull St has a fake tree out front. nobody asked for a tree 🌳😤
Saw a little brass plaque on a Quay Row door I've walked past for years and never once read. Hidden gem energy 🏡✨
Real talk Orlin Row: if the bus company can't keep the 14 on time, they should at least tell us which hour to be angry at. Nobody's getting a refund on patience out here 🚌
Saw a hand-lettered sign on Orlin Row offering 'the best fades in town' for twelve bucks. Respect the hustle, but I'm not even mad, I'm impressed. 💈
ok who told the bins to stack a cushion like that lol
No names, but a certain someone in a blazer posted about a 'hidden gem' this morning and I nearly choked on my first espresso. Some of us have been smiling at landlords' promises since spring. Watch your wallets, neighbours ☕
